Old info:
--------------------------------------------------------
Screwdriver is currently open for applications. We are open to new members of any job, but your application will be reviewed by the LS leader board prior to acceptance into the shell.
Screwdriver is purely a profit-sharing linkshell. Although we conduct attestation and animated weapon runs to support committed members wishing to perform relic upgrades, we do not allow sponsorship or offer discounted currency sales. Although we have no plans to change this, if we ever were to do so, new applicants would have zero chance of being allowed to sponsor ahead of current, long-time members.
With the recent increases in level cap and the introduction of Abyssea, our membership has declined from its peak. Despite this, we remain as capable and productive as ever, and it is normal for us to full-clear cities, kill the Dynamis Lord, and dominate CoP zones. Bringing additional members to runs is not always helpful, increases lag, creates administrative overhead, and dilutes profit. We are, however, looking to maintain or slightly increase our membership, but only on a selective basis.
The applicants with the best chance of admission will have:
Applicants under level 70 will be considered only if they are personally referred and vouched for by a current member of the shell.
Dynamis newbies are welcome, but people who can't listen to instructions, don't know how to play their jobs properly, or can't bother to show up for most of the runs need not apply. People who frequently go AFK also need not apply.
Screwdriver does not accept "night of" applications, as it breaks our review process. Plan to have your application in at least 24 hours before our next run. Server transfer applications should allow a week and expect us to perform a background check.
We also no longer accept combination apps for multiple players. If you have multiple characters that you control, you may include them on the same app, but your friends need to each fill out their own application if they wish to join the shell.
Prospective members are required to read and understand our rules and strategies before being admitted to the shell. Note: In order to read the strategies, you must be a registered user of these forums. Only our rules are posted in the public section that you are reading now.
We welcome prospective members who speak a language other than English as their primary language, but please understand that we do conduct runs almost exclusively in English. If your proficiency with the English language affects your ability to fill out our application completely, please alert us so that we do not misinterpret your responses.
For anyone who is still interested, please make a thread in this forum with your name as part of the subject, and answering the following (copy and paste the questions as well) - note that previous members of the shell should fill out the Returning Member Application instead:
Applications are reviewed by the LS leader board. Times may vary, but please check back to your application thread -- after at least a day -- for an update of your status. Application responses are usually swift, but may be delayed if we have followup questions for you. Also, if you do not have Northlands access, we may delay making a decision during times that we have Northlands runs scheduled.
Alternatively, you may contact any of the LS sackholders in-game to inquire about your status with us.

The applicants with the best chance of admission will have:
- Multiple useful jobs of different roles.
- The ability and willingness to show up to most runs.
- Previous dynamis experience, with wins in the cities and glacier as well as access to CoP zones.
- A good reputation and attitude.
- An application that is filled out in an intelligent and complete manner.
Applicants under level 70 will be considered only if they are personally referred and vouched for by a current member of the shell.

For anyone who is still interested, please make a thread in this forum with your name as part of the subject, and answering the following (copy and paste the questions as well) - note that previous members of the shell should fill out the Returning Member Application instead:
- Have you ever played FFXI under a different name and/or on a different server? If so, please explain in detail (low level mules need not be mentioned).
- Are you the original owner of your account? If not, explain.
- Do you use a security token to log into your account? If not, explain.
- What jobs do you have that you are willing to use during dynamis runs? List the levels of those jobs, and estimate your overall strength with the job on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being strongest and indicating a level that very few players can match or exceed. Also list support jobs.
- List any merits. Alternatively, you may provide a link to your FFXIAH.com profile if you have your merit info entered there.
- For the jobs that you have listed above, do have have any major deficiencies that will inhibit your ability to play effectively? Examples would include things such as unskilled primary weapons or lack of major spells like Utsusemi:Ni or sleepga II. Give a time estimate for correcting any issues.
- If you do not have at least one job at level 75, what approximate time frame do you anticipate for achieving level 75?
- What primary (lv. 70+) and secondary (any lv.) jobs do you wish to designate for collecting AFv2?
- Besides collecting AFv2, why do you want to do dynamis?
- Joining screwdriver is a little bit like joining the military. We'll train you, equip you with AF, and even pay you. But we expect some degree of commitment in return. What do you have to offer?
- We do runs every Monday and Thursday, currently starting around 7pm Central Time (U.S.). How often do you anticipate attending?
- Is your internet connection reliable?
- What, if any, previous dynamis experience do you have? List any previous shells, your reasons for leaving them, and any areas that you have won.
- Do you have access to CoP dynamis areas? Do you have Dynamis Tavnazia access?
- If you own any relic/AFv2 armor, list them individually here by name so that we can populate our database if you are admitted to the shell. This includes ALL AFv2, not just jobs that you've listed above.
- What, if any, other end-game experience do you have?
- We use Ventrilo for voice communication during runs. Participation is optional for most jobs. Are you able to log into to Ventrilo to at least listen? Do you have a microphone and/or headset, or are you willing to obtain one?
- Are you able/willing to purchase and use food (always) along with medicine and reraise items (when required) for dynamis?
- How did you hear about Screwdriver?
- Do you know of any current members of Screwdriver who can vouch for you? (Not knowing anyone does not disqualify you.)
- Have you reviewed our rules and strategies yet? If not, make a follow-up post in your application thread once you have.
